Neal VanDeRee wins the Florida Auctioneers Bid-Calling Championship
Titusville, Fl., Nov. 8, 2011 – Growing up in the auction business, Neal VanDeRee of Venice, Fl. is familiar with the pressure of being in the spotlight. On Monday, Nov. 7, Neal took center stage, before his peers and competed in the 2011 Florida Auctioneers Association Championship contest and was awarded the most sought after prize by auctioneers through out the state.
The contest is open to all licensed auctioneers in the state, of which there are approximately 3000 in the state of Florida, and is hosted by the Florida Auctioneers Association. In addition to this award, the VanDeRee Auction Marketing team also picked up two advertising awards as well.
Contestants were judged on their presentation, chant, voice timbre, body language, interview answers and other performance elements of effective auctioneering. FAA bid calling champions are considered by industry professionals to be the best bid-calling auctioneers in the state.

As a second-generation auctioneer, joining the family business, The VanDeRee Auction Company (www.vanderee.com), was not always in Neal's career plans. After obtaining a degree in speech communications from UF, Neal went on to study law at the University of Miami. He quit Law school to take over the family business when he realized that he enjoyed working with his dad and helping people as an auctioneer more than anything else. In 1985 his father handed the gavel over to him and was his greatest teacher. In addition, Neal attended the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point N.C., and did the three year CAI course at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana.
As the Champion Bid Caller for the State of Florida, Neal now moves on to compete at the National Auctioneers Association for the International Bid Calling Championship.
Neal conducts auctions throughout the country and around the world. The auction company has offices in Venice and specializes in real estate luxury properties. Neal also conducts several benefit auctions throughout the year for all worth while charities in Florida and around the country.
Neal VanDeRee will now serve as spokesman and ambassador for Florida in this quarter-trillion dollar auction industry world wide. Neal's reign as champion will conclude at the Florida Auctioneers Association Conference and Show in November 2012.
